PARENTING PLANS
A parenting plan (also known as The Allocation Agreement) is a document that says who will make decisions for a child and how those decisions will be made.
These are some things the parenting plan must include:
-
Where the child lives
-
Time the child spends with each parent
-
How each parent gets information and records about the child
-
How the child is to be transported for parenting time
Because of the amount of information that must be put in a parenting plan, it is a good idea to work with a mediator who will encourage parents to include as much further detail as possible.
To avoid later stress and confusion, it is critical to brainstorm all potential disagreements ahead of time, then stipulate in your plan exactly how they'll be handled, ensuring cooperation between the parents and the child’s best interest.
