Divorce Mediation vs Litigation: "How can the KISS principle simplify and streamline your divorce process?"

KISS to simplify and streamline your divorce
Keep it Simple Stupid

KISS, an acronym for “keep it simple, stupid” is a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960.  The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore, simplicity should be the key goal and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.

Why, you might ask, would the KISS principle take something as complex as the ending of a marriage?  The answer lies in the very nature of divorce.  It’s a process that can easily spiral into a battlefield of bitter disputes, legal battles, financial devastation and prolonged suffering.  The process of litigating your divorce in the courts is complex, convoluted, and complicated.  Yet, by embracing the essence of KISS and mediating the divorce, ex-partners can reach agreements more amicably, expedite the legal process, and minimize costs.  It also tends to lead to healthier post-divorce relationships, especially important when children are involved.

The KISS principle is not about undermining the gravity of divorce but about finding a path through it that minimizes pain and maximizing respect and understanding. As a neutral mediator, I create the path to straightforward and mutually agreeable solutions that lead to clearer and more equitable outcomes.  This leads to an expedited legal process and reduced costs so former partners can transition to their new lives with less bitterness and more hope for the future.  Divorce may never be easy, but simplifying the process can lead to a cleaner, more amicable split.  This, in turn, lays a healthier foundation for all parties involved, especially when children’s well-being is a priority.

So next time you run into someone who is facing divorce, give them a friendly nudge saying “Hey, don’t make it harder than it needs to be.”  They might give you a KISS afterwards!
